This interactive Schematice plan takes you through all the old and new elements of the park. The design  showcases the connectivity of all elements as well as the potential for new design and  programing  in this Tucson Area.

Playground

Creating a large and split playground allows for kids of all ages to play and recreate safely. The playground features equipment that whimsically reflects the environment in Tucson including a climbing mountain and slide, fun rock formations, cactus spin play, and jumping from rock to rock. This play area also leaves a lot of room for adaptation with time.

Ampitheater

The inclusion of a large amphitheater gives the public and community space ready for concerts, performances, speeches, or anything as an open space. Through this sloped bowl, the public is invited down into a space that feels connected to the park, while being separated from all of the active recreation. Another aspect of the amphitheater is the beautiful natural wildlife that surrounds it. All ages can experience the activeness of a concert or the simpleness of a sunset in this space.

Ramada
Gathering Areas

The  ramadas and gathering spaces throughout the park serve as a way to bring families and organizations into the park and provide them spaces to hold events and gatherings. With differing elevations, the ramada spaces allow for privacy while also giving visual access to the rest of the park, including the beautiful vegetation surrounding the park.

Walking Paths

One large draw of the existing park was the walking paths. All age groups are able to enjoy these paths whether they are just learning to walk or have been doing it for many decades. With multiple lengths, everyone can find the best path for them.

Social Hubs

The section elevation shows the design concept for the social hubs. Interlaced between all the sporting and recreational areas, the hubs serve as spaces for parents, players, viewers, walkers, families, and kids to enjoy the connectivity of the park. The concessions and restrooms also hold economic opportunities, either through The City of Tucson or independent groups or teams. With night lighting, shaded pathways, and seating areas, these hubs redefine the park and its connectivity.
