A Park For Life
Re-imagining Tucson’s Udall Park as a park focused on the human lifecycle. A Park For Life re-imagines Tucson’s Udall Park as a park built for all aspects of life.  Focusing on connectivity, relationships between people and spaces, and how an urban park operates, the updated design strives to create spaces that are useful and beautiful for all.

The existing park is widely used by all sorts of age groups and people. The senior center brings a lot of use from the older community, while the numerous fields attract club sports and tournaments. Each part of the existing park has a purpose, but none of those purposes are connected causing people to feel lost within the park. The goal for this project was to create a space revolving around the human view of experiencing a park, and how that changes and evolves as you grow. Using active and passive recreation, large and small gatherings, and regions defined by those that use them, the re-imagined park connects people of all ages and encourages everyone to find their purpose in the park.

A Park For Life grows with you. It is a place where you can play on the playground when you are 5, join a club team when you are 13, go on a date when you are 30, bring your family to when you are 45, and play pickleball with your friends when you are 60. With the mountains and vegetation surrounding the park, Tucson comes to life in this design, taking its residents and their needs into the design.
